  Two friends and I stopped there for lunch last sunday (paella day) and two of us had paella as a starter (beware large portions!) with the third one opting for Gazpacho Andaluz. This was followed by lamb chops and a desert with wine and coffee. We also had a beer each to start and one of us also had a whiskey. The total bill came to under €15 per head and if we had just opted for the paella, it would have been significantly less.

  The food was excellent though simple; the toilets are clean and there is a good wifi connection. Parking is relatively easy in the street outside. From my point of view there is only one downside in that as the patio is reached through the bar, dogs are not allowed.

  The restaurant is active at lunchtimes and in the evening, the bar is more of a village pub as Spaniards tend to eat their main meal at lunchtimes.

  Castilla La Mancha is full of small villages and most of them have at least one bar serving food at a reasonable price. Bar JJ is no exception; however in the heat of the summer it also provides a beautiful patio which is kept cool by an ingenious process of repeatedly spraying fine droplets of water which immediately evaporate making the patio a cool and shady place for lunch.
